“Owning my own home was a goal of mine for over
10 years and I’m still excited about this blessing. Credit issues and
just being afraid of such a large responsibility held me back. Being
a member of the Smart Savings Account program assisted me in becoming
serious about buying a home (long-term family investment). Fifth Ward
CRC referred me to this program. The Covenant classes and speakers
helped me to stay focused. The way the savings program is set up
helped a great deal for me to be more disciplined in my savings. When
it came to closing, World Savings was a blessing with the application
response time, low interest rate, and additional match funds. Also,
World Savings worked well with the other assistance programs I
received. I’ve learned that buying a home is a process (you must have
a lot of patience and discipline in saving). There’s a lot of
information to learn before and after the home purchase, so you must
have good representation for yourselves (for what you don’t know or
understand). Buying a home is an investment process for you, your
family, and the community in which you live. I would like to give
thanks to the staff of Fifth Ward CRC, HACH, Covenant, and World
Savings for making my goal reachable.” Cheryle Ross
